 |
Sameach |
Ping Pong |
Very good upbeat song, it has the
fastest rhythm of all this year's songs. |
2 |
Netherlands
 |
No Goodbyes |
Linda Wagenmakers |
The song is nothing special, but her
performance during the finals was tremendous. It has the big disadvantage of being one of
the starting songs so it might no go as well as the Dutch want. |

UK
 |
Don't Play That Song Again |
Nikki French |
Best entry so far, good rhythm,
excellent voice, this pop song is a strong candidate for winning. |
4 |
Estonia
 |
Once In A Lifetime |
Ines |
Excellent entry again for this country.
Next favorite entry after UK. |
5 |
France
 |
On aura le ciel (There Will Be
The Heaven) |
Sofia Mesfari |
Original French song, one of their best
throughout these years. Good overall song but it is being overrated. |
6 |
Romania
 |
Luna (Moon) |
Taxi |
Very good original song but as it is
sung in Romanian it does not stand a good chance of finishing higher than 10th place. If
it is sung in English it will be strong. |
7 |
MALTA
 |
Desire |
Claudette Pace |
Latin tempo song which will bring a
different rhythm to the contest, a very important thing for a country to stand out above
the rest. |
8 |
Norway
 |
My Heart Goes Boom |
Charmed |
A good song but it's similar to other
countries and it doesn't stand out as anything special. |
9 |
Russia
 |
Solo |
Alsou |
"Britney Spears" type of song,
good but more of the same. |
10 |
Belgium
 |
Envie De Vivre |
Nathalie Sorce |
Very good song which is bound to go very
well due to its different style and French language. |
11 |
Cyprus
 |
Nomiza (I Thought) |
Alexandros Panayi &
Christina Argyri |
Original Ethnic song but not a
bright prospect for Cyprus. Might be a dark horse this year. |
12 |
Iceland
 |
Hvert sem er |
Einer Ágúst Víðisson
& Telma Ágústsdóttir |
My favorite song of the contest. Sung in
English it would be even better. Will probably end in the Top Five places. |
13 |
Spain
 |
Colgado De Un Sueño (Hanging Onto A
Dream) |
Serafín Zubiri |
An average ballad which does not sound
promising. The singer is blind and this might attract sympathy votes. Probably will do
better than last year's last placing. |
14 |
Denmark
 |
Smuk Som Et Stjerneskud (Fly On The Wings of Love) |
Jørgen & Brodrene Olsen |
Quite a good song but it hasn't anything
which makes it special or original. It might be that this song is forgotten in televoting
except of course by their neighbours, Finland, Norway and Sweden. Probably will end
between 10th-15th place. |
15 |
Germany
 |
Wadde Hadde Dudde Da (What Do You Have There ?) |
Stefan Raab |
Very unusual song, probably not
suitable to the contest but will probably do well anyway. 12 points are already in their
bag (from their generous neighbours Turkey) |
16 |
Switzerland
 |
La Vita Cos'é |
Jane Bogaert |
The Italian language finally returns to
Eurovision. This song is an excellent ballad and can be a surprise on the night. A
possible winner. |
17 |
Croatia
 |
Ostani |
Goran Karan |
This song is the least impressive of all
the 24 songs. Its language will not help it either. It's very likely that some Balkan
countries hand over some points but Croatia should not hope too much this year. |
18 |
Sweden
 |
Nar vindarna viskar mitt namn (Let The
Winds Whisper My Name) |
Roger Pontare |
The hosts have again produced a
magnificent song, only this time there's no Abba in it. This is a typical Swedish Ethnic
song. It sounds very promising, and the performance on stage by Roger was quite
outstanding. Must be considered as one of the favorites when you take into consideration
that the host country has "home" advantage. |
19 |
FYROM
 |
100% I Love You |
XXL |
Festive type of song with a good melody.
It's the type of song which might go horribly wrong on the night, or do quite well. |
20 |
Finland
 |
A Little Bit |
Nina Åström |
Quite a good song but it's one of the
least good of all the good songs. Top Ten finish is very likely. |
21 |
Latvia
 |
My Star |
Brainstorm |
Excellent song which will do very well.
His voice is both striking and powerful. Must be considered as one of the favorites. |
22 |
Turkey
 |
Yorgunum Anla
(Understand That I Am Tired) |
Pinar Karakoc Ayhan & SOS Band |
This is a very good ethnic song. Twelve
points are sure to come from their neighbours Germany. An excellent performance is needed
to stand a chance of finishing in the Top 10. |
23 |
Ireland
 |
Millennium Of Love |
Eamonn Toal |
A beautiful song which may remind us of
"Rock 'n Roll Kids" and "Love, Shine A Light". It would have been a
guaranteed winner just three years ago (when votes were by jury) but it's bound to attract
plenty of televoting points on the night. |
24 |
Austria
 |
All To You |
Rounder Girls |
A good song which will have the
advantage of being last in the list. The group seems to have great charisma and their
confidence on stage might get them many votes. |
